The Maverick Monk's Story

From Mud Hut to Manhattan

A search for spiritual truth that began in a thatched-roof monastery in India — and led to the world's biggest stages.

My Journey

It started at eleven.

At the age of 11, I entered a monastery in India — mud huts with thatched roofs, surrounded by tropical gardens — and devoted myself full-time to studying the ancient Vedic texts.

By 23 I had become the world's youngest swami, and began carrying that wisdom across the world: 20 countries, 80 cities, audiences as large as 15,000.

Life is not cheap. I only get to live this one once — and it shall not be governed by arbitrary ideas, rules or expectations.

Life Is Not Cheap

I needed more proof.

At my lowest point I lost almost everything — my spiritual community, my mentor, my relationship and my financial support all at once.

In that crisis I made a choice: to surrender to dharma rather than to circumstance. Out of it, the Maverick Monk was born — teaching spiritual wisdom freely and independently, accountable to truth rather than to any institution.

Spiritual wisdom isn't about dropping off the face of the earth. It's about dropping back to earth — fully alive, fully effective, fully here.
